Now when we export a schedule it is by item. That is way to much detail for our schedule. Is it possible to have an option in the future to export a schedule only by category ?

Turtlecreek-
Any chance that you can get this into 3.8?

Does any one else see this as useful?

Sorry for the delay, still thinking on this one.

If there are a bunch of same-category items in a row, we can probably do this fairly easily. It may be able to make 3.8.

The problem will be if you have a category that's spread out in the list. We could still manage that too, but it would be a lot more programming. To be technical, we'd have to set up an array for each category and keep track of overall dates, rather than just processing the line items in sequence from the Estimate.

What are your expectations from this report? Would it be OK if one category was listed in several places? That could easily be the case with the CSI categories, since they aren't very chronological (you might use Wood & Plastics in several different time periods).

Yes, I think that would do the trick, or maybe it needs to be by Category/Subcategory. Our estimates are not always laid out with all the categories together, for example we have General Condition items at the beginning and end of most estimates....I think this may be one of those things that we would have to try and see how it works...do any other users have an opinion on this?
