Hello---I'd like help with the "import" command in Goldenseal.

We are using the multiuser format; I'd like to be able to create/modify records on my laptop, then return to the office and import these into the network.

I create a new record: change order, let's say. I do this on a saved version of our latest company record. I export it to desktop.

Return to office, log on to network, attempt to import.

Every time I've tried to do this--and also when I had single user Goldenseal--I receive an error message saying that the import file format is not supported.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks--Nate

What are you exporting? Most likely, it's set up without the header info that Goldenseal needs for importing easily.

You should probably use File--Export--Current Record in a case like this. That exports it in a standard format that Goldenseal can import, easily.

Thanks Casey--I am usually exporting an estimate or change order, created in the field, to my desktop. I do this using the "Export Current Record" command as you suggest.

In the case of the change order I'm working on right now, it appears on the desktop as Estimate Export.

Then I'm trying to import it into the server's database when back in the office and logged onto MU Goldenseal. Using File . Import > Estimate...Still no joy at this point.

Error message received just now: "Sorry, file not valid for this import type"
