This is probably obvious/easy, but I'd like to be able to sort the labor time records by date, or better, be able to set that sort as the default. As it stands now, when I write in hours worked and it's not in chronological order, GS keeps the order in which they were recorded/written rather than sorting/displaying chronologically.
Come to think of it, why would one want the records shown any other way?
Thanks...

As a default, Goldenseal stores records in the order you enter them.
You can use the Sort command to sort them by date, or by any other field. It will "remember" that sorted order until you use Sort again, or use the Find command.
One problem with a permanent date sort is that if you enter stuff with the wrong year, the record will "disappear" and be hard to locate. It also makes some actions a bit slower.
How about a preference setting that would set a preferred sort order.
Having come from a Quicken (still use) and Quickbooks (no longer use) background I'm very used to a sort by date default order in all records.

I'll put in a feature request for this. It would slow things down somewhat, since we would have to do a date sort every time you add a record, change a date, do a find, etc. So it will definitely need to be an optional Preferences choice. We don't want to inflict a performance hit for users who don't want it this way.
Do any other users want this feature? If it's popular, it will happen sooner.
For anyone who wants records sorted by date now, it's possible with the Edit--Sort command. This request would just keep records sorted by date all the time.

I'd vote for sorting by date. I think GS is pretty quick as it is right now, but I just started using it so I might change my mind after several years of records accumulate.
BTW - after using it for a couple of weeks and having some prior experience with it, I'd like to compliment the developers for a very good job of putting it together.

Sort isn't permanent; it only lasts while the window is open.
